I run for the landscapes, i love mountains and during the summer it is full of colors, odors, and very very quiet. I run also ultra-trails for the performance and reach my limits, but it is time also to enjoy being alone, quiet, free.
HOW DO YOU RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE?
I do other sports so it permits to think to other things and live other beautiful adventures like in scuba diving. This activity is another way to discover the world in quiet environment and to be amazed by nature around us.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE? WHY DOES THIS QUOTE RESONATE WITH YOU?
In life we don't do what we want but we are responsible for what we are. I am convinced that we must be responsible of our life, we cannot wait nothing from others. And we cannot say if we are in a situation, it is because of others. You cannot have what you want but you can become what you want. Behavior and mindset, for me, cannot come from material considerations and others. but behavior and mindset can have consequences on.
HOW DO YOU CONQUER DIFFICULT SITUATIONS?
Hmm…In my personal life, I do all the possible to move forward, I know that it will be better then. I can say that my favorite behavior is movement. I cannot wait and see. Maybe I will make mistakes, maybe not…but I must act on my life and difficulties.
WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU HAD TO MAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY AND WERE THEY WORTH IT?
Before being a mother, I cannot say that it was sacrifices, because it was really a pleasure to run and train. I had time, weekends, I could rest a lot. maybe the sacrifices were to choose between scuba diving, kite surfing and running...not so bad isn’t it? I cannot say that training for an ultra is easy. you have to run a lot, wake up very early to run hours, some training days or plans are very difficult. but for me it was a challenge more than a sacrifice. Now it is very different. Leaving home to run ours in the mountains significate not enjoying time with my daughter, all the more so I work 45 hours a week! So, it is very hard choice and sacrifice. It is for this reason that I adapted my training according to my family. So I train very early in the morning, or at midday, or during the night.
HOW DOES YOUR MINDSET (OR ATTITUDE) INFLUENCE YOUR PERFORMANCE?
I am a tenacious person, I like challenging myself, I am very active, I do not like resting, and I never let myself down. So ultra-trail is made for me! I never give up.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU AREN’T RUNNING?
Ski, sky diving, scuba diving and kite surf when I have time. and then I care of my family, my husband, my little daughter and I work 45hours a week!
WHAT STRATEGY DO YOU USE TO OVERCOME PRESSURE AND STRESS FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE?
Very hard for me to avoid stress. Many people use mental trainer. I could also but… I prefer the support of my husband who can always find the right words.
