ABOUT ME

Born in the cradle of alpine skiing, it´s no wonder I fell in love with skiing and made it my profession. As a professional ski guide, I’m able to live my dream in the Arlberg.  Along with being a guide, I coach Austrian ski instructors at all levels. I´m an avalanche bomber - responsible for securing the ski resort and am on the mountain rescue team. I am also a mental health coach. My key is living my passion in my profession.

What MOMENT do you ski for?

When your mind completely shuts down and you just do what you love. Enjoy skiing.

How do you recharge your batteries for the next challenge?

I love skiing. Skiing in all snow conditions with a variety of skis, helps me improve my skills. But it´s also very important to have a break and do something completely different. Going out to dinner with my love, meeting friends, having a good yoga session or just relaxing. These help my mind to calm down.

What’s your favorite quote? Why does this quote resonate with you?

“All dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them.” Walt Disney My courage has helped me along the way and made me into the person I am today. This quote has turned into a mindset for me.

How do you conquer difficult situations?

I always try to listen to my instincts and trust that they will lead me through, because I know I have the skills to do it.

What sacrifices have you had to make to get to where you are today and were they worth it?

I’m not sure if sacrifice is the right word. I never felt that anything I did was a sacrifice. I think it’s just the way you handle situations. Friends, partnerships, health issues come and go. It is how it is. I am convinced that everything happens for a reason. I try to adapt myself to handle difficult situations and the result is what it is. I am very happy with how my life has turned out.

How does your mindset (or attitude) influence your performance?

A lot. Working on my mindset is as important as working on my fitness. It helps me to get out of my comfort zone and that allows me to improve my skills.

What do you do when you aren’t skiing?

For me it´s important to be doing a lot of activities outdoors. As skiing is very static, I try to keep my body smooth with hiking, climbing and yoga. Traveling and exploring new places gives me a good break. Spending time with my loved ones fills my heart and trying out new things brings me out of my comfort zone.

What strategy do you use to overcome pressure and stress for optimum performance?

I focus on the goal and try to stay in the moment with all my senses.
