I love ski mountaineering because it is a beautiful sport where you spend whole days face to face with the mountain.
How do you recharge your batteries for the next challenge?
I am fortunate to live in a wonderful location, so it is enough to look at the mountains!
What’s your favorite quote? Why does this quote resonate with you?
Rest is not rest, but the effort to change is rest! This is the phrase of a strong mountaineer, Bruno Detassis. I like it a lot because it really reflects my person.
How do you conquer difficult situations?
With experience and reflecting, I’ve learned that giving up is not an act of cowardice.
What sacrifices have you had to make to get to where you are today and were they worth it?
Fortunately, I did not have to make too many sacrifices. Unfortunately I chose to leave school early to dedicate myself to the mountains. If I were able to return to the choice, I would not do it again.
How does your mindset (or attitude) influence your performance?
My current performance is related to safety. I don’t let myself be influenced by others. I try to maintain a safety threshold that is always high.
What do you do when you aren’t skiing?
I climb a lot and I’ve done a lot of road cycling in the last few years.
What strategy do you use to overcome pressure and stress for optimum performance?
I think a lot about the possible consequences of the choices I have to make, and I choose those where security is the greatest.
