By combining adaptive memory foams with pre-shaped thermoplastic inserts and a premolded footbed, the AST - Adaptive Shape Technology adapts the Forge 2.0 to the shape of each foot. Designed around an anatomical last, the Forge 2.0 holds the forefoot and heel firmly in place to provide all-day comfort during long treks on technical terrain.
The Forge 2.0 is equipped with a Vibram® XS Trek Evo™ sole designed to adapt to a wide range of wet and dry surfaces. Outer lugs provide ground adaptability and stability in varied terrain. Inner lugs ensure multidirectional traction; the semiclimbing zone adds climbing performance, and self-cleaning channels keep the sole free from mud and debris.
The Forge 2.0 is equipped with a polypropylene lasting board placed on top of the outsole and midsole unit, providing stiffness and support on uneven technical terrain under heavy backpacks, while under the compressed EVA midsole sits an ESS rock plate that protects the forefoot from sharp rocks.
