The Agate Speed has been designed around an activity-specific anatomical last to match the ergonomic and biometric needs of fast hikers. In addition, the Agate Speed carefully matches the more triangular shape, low volume and narrower heel bone of women's feet. The shoe has a moderately snug and agile fit to meet the needs of more sporty, demanding, and high-pace fast hiking.
The Pebax® foam plate of the Impulso technology sits in a balanced EVA midsole geometry, providing a lightweight, durable platform that supports the foot during intense fast hiking, keeping the shoe’s lateral stability when moving fast downhill or on uneven terrain. In addition, the V-Shaped ESS insert plate at the midfoot delivers torsional support and helps to prevent ankle injuries.
The midsole unit features Tecnica's exclusive Impulso technology that combines the benefits of a high-rebound EVA and a Pebax® elastomer insert placed at the mid and front foot. The result is a dynamic and propulsive stride while maintaining balanced cushioning, agile performance with a smooth and fast transition, and a responsive toe-off when pushing hard to reach the summit.
