The Sulfur and Sulfur Mid are fast-moving approach shoes that combine professional climbing precision with all-day hiking comfort. Developed with mountain guides to elevate the approach category, the Sulfur shoes feature Tecnica's exclusive AST technology for a precise fit. Climbing precision

By combining adaptive memory foams with pre-shaped thermoplastic inserts and an ORTHOLITE® footbed, the AST - Adaptive Shape Technology adapts the Sulfur to the precise shape of each foot. Designed around an anatomical last, the Sulfur is equipped with the Edge Frame echnology and a Vibram® Megagrip™ outsole with climbing zone to enhance its climbing performance.

Climbing performance and Hiking Walkability

The Edge Frame Plate placed above the midsole provides stiffness and support while climbing, still allowing the shoe to flex freely when walking. The result: climbing performance meets hiking walkability. The longitudinal elements promote stiffness and torsional rigidity at the toe and midfoot. The cut-out crossway arrangements allow for more flex in the metatarsal area.

Hiking comfort

The midsole is made with two different densities. The softer EVA compound at the heel provides cushioning and ground adaptability, to guarantee optimal comfort when walking. The midsole and outsole are designed with a front-rockered profile to promote a smoother heel-to-toe transition, to walk longer with a higher level of comfort.

Backloop

The little loop helps the wearer to slide the foot in and out of the shoes effortlessly and can be used to hang them on your backpack or to the climbing harness.

Ortholite® footbed

The anatomically-shaped Ortholite® footbed is highly breathable and provides superior comfort and long-lasting performance.

Vibram® Megagrip™ Outsole

The Vibram® Megagrip outsole is made of a high-performance compound that offers unparalleled grip on dry and wet terrain. This compound is also best in its class for durability and ground adaptation.

Gore-Tex® extended comfort PFC-Free

The Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort membrane delivers durable waterproof and breathable weather protection to ensure that your feet stay dry and comfortable all day long and all year round.

Climbing zone

At the toe, the outsole features a flat climbing zone. This dedicated climbing-specific feature gives advanced precision, toe and edging power on slabs, ledges and edges, making it the perfect choice for steeper rock faces.

Arch grip

At the center of the outsole, under the arch of the foot is the rubber arch grip. The specific shape of its ‘teeth’ ensures better grip on slippery ridges and raised edges, as well as via ferrata rungs and ladders.

Lightweight Rubber rand

The toes and lateral and medial side of the foot are fully protected by a light rubber rand that adds further protection and abrasion resistance against rocks and scree.
